Qualifications

Job description

EquipmentShare is accepting applications for future Technician (Mechanic) openings in the Columbia, SC area.

For this role, we seek individuals responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of customer and company-owned heavy equipment machinery and aerial lifts. Mechanics will have the opportunity to work on the newest fleet in the industry.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Practice safe job practices when repairing equipment
  • Use technology (laptops and tablets) comfortably
  • Maintain and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on rental and customer equipment, using a high degree of independent judgment
  • Assist in training lower-level technicians as needed
  • Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) accurately and promptly daily
  • Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts
  • Be knowledgeable of OSHA requirements (preferred)
  • Field Mechanics: Travel to customer sites for repair/maintenance when required; maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional manner
  • Participate in year-round OEM training provided by the company
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Skills & Qualifications
  • Own tools applicable to the position
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools
  • Extensive knowledge of construction equipment, schematics, and diagrams
  • Excellent customer service, teamwork, and communication skills
  • High School diploma; Trade school certification preferred
  • Experience in field service, maintenance, and repair preferred
  • Field mechanics: Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record; must be at least 21 years old to operate company vehicles
  • Ability to move, stand, stoop, and bend freely
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Field Technicians: May be required to be clean-shaven to access some worksites
  • This is a safety-sensitive position; employment contingent upon passing a 10-panel drug screen
