Job summary

Merck offers a 12-week Future Talent Program internship within our US Controllers Organization in the Finance Division. You will work on projects across accounting functions and gain exposure to sales accounting, tax support, treasury, and reporting for US entities.

As an Intern, you will prepare analyses, process receipts, and assist with ad-hoc requests while participating in program activities to develop professionally and network across the company.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed support analyses for balance sheet accounts, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports for the Corporate Accounting Group.
• Process miscellaneous check receipts from initial receipt through to journal entry preparation, ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
• Utilize various financial systems to extract and analyze data in support of government reporting requirements.
• Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the finance function.
• Assist with ad-hoc financial and accounting requests as needed.
• Actively participate in the Company’s Intern Program activities and Finance Division events to foster professional development and networking.
• Assist other groups of the Global Controllers Organization, including Consolidations and Accounting Standards.
