Job summary

Jobtailor seeks an eager chemistry student to join a 12-week internship in our organic synthesis lab. You will tackle real-world pharmaceutical research questions under supervision, contributing to synthetic route exploration and process development.

You will perform high-throughput experiments, manage ELN documentation, and present results in team meetings. Eligible juniors/seniors or grad students in chemistry with strong GPA may apply; US/PR residents only.

Qualifications

  • Sophomore–senior pursuing a bachelor's in chemistry or graduate student pursuing a master's or Ph.D. in chemistry.
  • Completed at least two years of studies toward a bachelor's degree by June 2027.
  • Available to work full-time for ~10–12 weeks from May–August 2027.
  • Strong interest in organic chemistry and pharma R&D applications.
  • Basic lab skills and ELN documentation experience.
  • GPA 3.0 or higher (on a 4.0 scale).
  • PI approval required before applying.
  • US and Puerto Rico residents only; no visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Job description

  • Maintain accurate electronic laboratory notebooks
  • Adhere to safe laboratory practices
  • Present research results in oral and written formats
Requirements
  • Currently enrolled sophomore, junior, or senior student pursuing a bachelor's degree in chemistry, OR currently enrolled graduate student pursuing a master's or Ph.D. in Chemistry
  • Must have completed at least two years of studies towards a bachelor's degree by June 2027
  • Available to work full-time for approximately 10–12 weeks from May–August 2027
  • Strong interest in organic chemistry and its application to pharmaceutical research and development
  • Basic laboratory skills and prior research experience involving standard experimental techniques and electronic laboratory notebook (ELN) documentation
  • Overall GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale
  • Must obtain approval from principal investigator (PI) prior to applying
  • US and Puerto Rico residents only
  • No visa sponsorship
