Job summary

Sunbelt Supply, a FloWorks company, seeks a Field Service Technician to install, configure, test, and maintain butt fusion, electrofusion, and socket fusion equipment at customer sites. Follow blueprints and manufacturer instructions to ensure quality and safety.

Role requires reading basic drawings, using hand and power tools, and traveling to job sites (overnight as needed). High school diploma or GED required; HDPE fusion training is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Previous construction, utility, pipeline, mechanical, fabrication, or related experience preferred.
  • HDPE fusion training or certification preferred but not required.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to safely use hand and power tools.
  • Willingness to travel and work overtime as needed.
  • CDL license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the setup, operation, and breakdown of butt fusion, electrofusion, and socket fusion equipment.
  • Prepare HDPE pipe and fittings for fusion by measuring, aligning, cleaning, and inspecting materials.
  • Perform fusion operations in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company quality standards.
  • Support fabrication and assembly activities in shop and field environments.
  • Inspect fusion joints and identify defects or quality concerns.
  • Maintain accurate fusion records and project documentation as required.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of fusion equipment and tools.
  • Load, unload, and transport materials, equipment, and supplies to job sites.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist other technicians and crews with installation, testing, and related construction activities.
  • Participate in training programs and pursue fusion certifications as required.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in both shop and field settings.

Sunbelt Supply is a global provider of flow control solutions. We provide in-house valve automation services, including CAD design and drawings, machine, fabrication, assembly shops featuring CNC machinery, and automation repair work.

Job Information

Operates in the field, on-call or provides technical support to assigned customers. Installs, configures, performs problem determination and maintains products and equipment at customer sites, following blueprints and manufacturer's instructions, utilizing product and technical knowledge of equipment. Repairs or coordinates repair of worn or defective products or equipment. Perform skilled, technical work in the design, installation, testing, calibration, maintenance, and repair for assigned product or process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and humidity.
  • May be exposed to dust, dirt, noise, and vibration associated with construction and fabrication activities.
Work Environment

This position operates in both shop and field environments. Occasional visits to warehouses or operational sites may be required. Typically requires overnight travel more than 50% of the time.
