Operate equipment that fuses polyethylene pipe. This position requires operating a company vehicle to and from various job sites consistently for more than 20% of the average work week. An acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report will be required for selection.
Analyze complex and unusual problems and work through them. Select correct processes from clearly prescribed rules, past practice, or instruction. Seek advice and guidance on non-routine or problem areas from supervisor. Deviations from the norm are cleared by supervisor. Under close supervision, use limited latitude for independent judgment. Work typically involves detailed checks or close review of output by a senior co-worker and/or supervisor.
Generally a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noise, and fumes, which may cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness. Requires overnight travel and stay 10–15% of the time. Requires intermittent periods of continuous physical exertion, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting, and maneuvering material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.
