Job summary

Ariel Partners is seeking an experienced Data Warehouse/OBIEE professional to design, implement, and maintain enterprise data warehouse solutions. You will develop system designs, prepare specifications, and collaborate with functional leads to translate requirements into scalable EDW designs.

You will configure and administer WebLogic and OBIEE components, perform testing on large data sets, and work in a three-tier data warehouse environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years experience in the listed skill sets.
  • Ability to read and interpret business requirements to guide a technical team.
  • Experience with NYS Welfare Management System and/or NYS Medicaid Claims Processing System and/or NYCWAY in a technical/analytical capacity.
  • Excellent analytical and testing skills; able to communicate complex concepts clearly in English.
  • Configuring Interactive Dashboards with drill-down capabilities in OBIEE and related tools.
  • Upgrade and maintenance of specifications, design documents, and operation concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Develop system design specifications and documents for solutions meeting system and security requirements.
  • Transform new requirements into existing EDW designs and implementations.
  • Develop system documentation and business-friendly descriptions of database elements.
  • Collaborate with staff to plan implementation, enhancements, and changes.
  • Test and analyze resulting data; install, configure, and support Oracle Fusion Middleware products.
  • Provide assistance to technical support in usability and business-related issues.
  • Interact with customers and legacy developers to clarify feature intent and resolve problems.
  • Perform testing/evaluation and contribute to testing strategy and risk assessment.

Job description

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Enterprise Data Warehouse enables hundreds of primarily non-technical business users across HRA, in OMB and in the HHS Connect agencies to retrieve client and case data on demand. The EDW contains 13+ TB of data from multiple HRA and NYS systems which can be used for current and/or historical and/or multi-source for ad-hoc querying, via reports, and transactional system interfaces.

Tasks & Duties
  • Develop system design specifications
  • Develops and prepares documents for the general design of solutions that meet system and security requirements, including the selection of alternative approaches.
  • Develop functional specifications and system design specifications.
  • Work with functional leads to transforming and developing new requirements into existing Enterprise Data Warehouse design and implementation.
  • Develop system documentation
  • Develops business-friendly descriptions for database elements and values and explanations of the use of the elements in the legacy systems.
  • Confer with staff and users to identify and document system requirements.
  • Read documents belong to sources used in data warehouse and create change request.
  • Perform System Design/Development
  • Work with staff (e.g., managers, senior programmers, support staff, product manager) to plan implementation, enhancements and changes.
  • Test and analyze resulting data.
  • Install, configure, intergrade, administer, deploy, and support of Oracle Fusion Middleware product. This includes maintaining and upgrading the WebLogic Server and OFM component like Oracle Portal, OBIEE, OID, and OAM in Solaris Environment.
  • Provide assistance to technical support staff in the resolution of usability and business-related issues.
  • Frequently contact customers and legacy system developers as required to clarify the intent of a new feature or to resolve a problem
  • Perform Testing/Evaluation
  • Tests programs and systems.
  • Test system changes during release.
  • Assist in quality assurance and defining testing strategy and risks.
MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Key Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience with the following skill sets:
  • Developing test plans and analyzing and testing large volumes of data
  • Using business knowledge to guide a technical team.
  • NYS Welfare Management System and/or NYS Medicaid Claims Processing System and/or NYCWAY in a technical/analytical capacity
  • Excellent analytical and testing skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts in clear, non- technical oral and written English
  • Configuring Interactive Dashboards with drill-down capabilities using Filters and Dashboard Prompts, Agent, catalog object, OBIEE Security Setup groups, access privileges
  • Upgrade and maintain specification plan, design documents, concept of operations, implementation of software solutions.
  • WebLogic/OBIEE and Fusion Middleware Administration, OBIEE 12c Development, Administration, SSO, OAM, integration of OID with AD, Oracle Portal, Report server, and development
  • Working in a large three tier data warehouse environment
  • Writing SQL and OBIEE 12c in an Oracle 19c or later environment.
