Job summary

The Associate Heating Systems Technician at PPPL provides maintenance, operation and commissioning of experimental heating and current drive systems, primarily supporting the Neutral Beam Injection System for NSTX-U, with cross-support for other experiments.

The role requires electrical/electronics expertise, HV pulsed-power experience and strict safety practices; on-site at Princeton with potential for extended hours and on-call duties in a lab environment.

Qualifications

• Electrical/Electronics Technology education or AA degree with 3–5 years in electrical tech.
• Equivalent 5+ years experience if no degree.
• Experience with HV/pulsed-power systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate the local control center to monitor Neutral Beam Ion Source parameters.
• Repair and maintain Neutral Beam Power Supplies, Ion Sources and related equipment.
• Troubleshoot, calibrate electronics equipment and document performance data.
