Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems seeks a Techno-Economic Analyst to develop and evolve techno-economic models for fusion power plants, notably ARC. You will work with internal teams to assess costs, benefits, and risks, and communicate findings to stakeholders.

Strong modeling, probabilistic forecasting, and cross-functional collaboration are essential for success in a dynamic startup environment. The role focuses on economic viability, design input, and helping articulate the value of fusion energy

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
• 5+ years of industry experience and energy systems knowledge advised.
• Experience with probabilistic modeling and quantitative analysis.
• Ability to work in cross-functional teams with clear communication.
• Strong Excel modeling and data analysis capabilities.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deliver on tight timelines.
• Experience with probabilistic forecasting and financial metrics.
• Comfort with autonomous work and start-up dynamics.
• Excellent writing and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop techno-economic models to evaluate fusion power plant economics.
• Run sensitivity analyses and improve analytical methods over time.
• Track ARC competitiveness vs other energy options.
• Collaborate with R&D, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Finance teams.
• Prepare briefing materials and publish research results.
• Present analyses and defend assumptions to diverse audiences.
• Support investor relations and business development with data-driven insights.
