Description

The role involves learning, performing, and rotating between positions such as packer, scaler, styler, and grader. The technician will maintain line speeds for various products at designated rates.

ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate on a moving conveyor belt, using both hands to spread or style products.
• Perform various packing and weighing tasks.
• Remove bones, inspect, grade, and discard products that do not meet standards.
• Participate actively as a team member, supporting team development, communication, and policy implementation. Attend team meetings and foster cohesiveness regarding major issues such as direction, planning, and policies.
• Understand and support Simmons Operating Systems principles, including quality, security, and LEAN practices. Maintain familiarity with these systems and communicate concerns or improvement ideas.
• Perform other duties as necessary to support business objectives, demonstrating flexibility and creativity.
• Physical activities include moving, pushing, or pulling up to 55 pounds, bending, stooping, walking, standing, and working in cold, wet, noisy, and dusty environments. Repetitive motions and rotating through different plant areas are involved.
• Use personal protective equipment such as waterproof gloves, sleeves, hearing protection, and slip-resistant footwear.
