Job summary

Maersk is seeking a Furniture Repair Technician in Savannah, GA, to inspect and repair furniture and assemble items for clients as directed by supervision. The role demands attention to detail, endurance for manual tasks, and the ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Responsibilities include inspecting incoming furniture, repairing various materials, maintaining refurbishing inventory, assisting with deliveries, and helping with off-loading trailers.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience with wood furniture, leather, fabric and upholstery.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Inspect furniture to ensure it meets company standards.
• Evaluate damages and select repair/restoration methods for wood, leather, fabric.
• Maintain inventory and stock records in refurbishing department; order supplies.
• Utilize tools and machinery to repair furniture.
• Assist with delivery of products to homes and other locations.
• Assist with off-loading trailers manually (no forklifts).
• Assist with pulling delivery routes.
• Other duties as requested.

Job Summary

Inspecting and repairing furniture as well as assembling furniture for our clients as directed by the Station Manager or Floor Supervisor.

Essential Functions

• Inspect all furniture that comes through the warehouse to make sure it meets company standards
• Evaluate damages and select appropriate methods of repair and/or restoration for wood furniture, leather, fabric and upholstery
• Maintain inventory and stock records within refurbishing department and order supplies required to perform daily tasks
• Utilize tools and other specialized machinery to repair furniture
• Assist with delivery of said products to homes and other locations
• Ability to assist with off‑loading trailers manually (no forklifts)
• Ability to assist with pulling delivery routes
• Other duties as requested

• Ability to assemble & repair furniture carefully and accurately
• Strong attention to detail and excellent time‑management and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and with a team in an fast‑paced environment
• Efficiency with colour matching and blending
• Able to read, write and speak English

Education

High School degree or equivalent

Experience

Minimum 2 years’ experience working with wood furniture, leather, fabric and upholstery

Physical Requirements

This position requires standing and walking for extended periods of time. Position requires employees to frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, use hands, reach, bend and lift objects above their head. Employees must be able to regularly lift/move up to 75 pounds. Position requires regular use of a phone and PC and reading and writing of various shipping documents.

Pay Range

$30 TO $31.25 per hour

*The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
