Raymour & Flanigan in Gibbstown, NJ is seeking motivated individuals for its Furniture Repair Technician in Training Program. This hands-on role trains associates to repair upholstery, wood and leather, or motion furniture within our service centers.

The Training Technician program runs 7–12 weeks, with five levels of craftsmanship to master color, finishes, upholstery, leather, and structure repair, offering clear growth and skill progression.

Qualifications

• Able to lift and maneuver furniture up to 100 lbs.
• Aptitude for craftsmanship, carpentry, and repair work.
• Detail oriented with professional demeanor at all times.

Responsibilities

• Repair, replace, and rebuild damaged leather, upholstery, or mechanical parts.
• Set up and operate tools such as drills, sanders, and saws.
• Work independently or with a team to complete repairs.

Our Furniture Repair Technician in Training Program trains associates to fully repair furniture for our customers, whether it be stitching upholstery, repairing wood and leather, or repairing mechanisms in motion furniture. Our Furniture Repair Technicians work and train in the comfort of our service centers.

The Repair Technician in Training is 7-12 weeks along with monetary growth based on skill completion. The training program offers five levels of craftsmanship techniques to master color, finishes, upholstery, leather, structure repair etc.

Responsibilities / Requirements:

• Ability to lift, lower, push, and pull all sizes of furniture up to and in excess of 100 lbs
• Must be comfortable working with hands and display an aptitude for craftsmanship, artistic, and/or carpentry services
• Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail and professionalism at all times
• Knowledge of mixing paints, powders and stains to match existing finishes
• Ability to repair, replace, and rebuild damaged leather, upholstery furniture, or mechanical parts
• Ability to set up and operate tools such as power drills, sanders, saws, and other tools required for repair
• Excellent listening skills and the ability to work both independently and with a team
