Job summary

Raymour & Flanigan is seeking a Furniture Repair Technician in Training to learn and perform full furniture repairs for customer satisfaction. The program progresses through five levels of craftsmanship, covering upholstery, wood, leather, color matching, and mechanism repair.

Trainees will work within Raymour & Flanigan service centers, gaining hands-on experience with tools and repairs while developing professional craftsmanship and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift, lower, push, and pull furniture up to 100 lbs+.
• Aptitude for craftsmanship, artistic, and carpentry tasks.
• Detail-oriented and professional at all times.
• Knowledge of mixing paints, powders, and stains to match finishes.
• Able to repair/rebuild damaged leather and upholstery.
• Operate common repair tools (drills, sanders, saws).
• Excellent listening skills; work well solo or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Train as Furniture Repair Technician in Training (7–12 weeks) with five levels of craftsmanship.
• Repair furniture components: stitching, wood/leather repair, mechanism repair.
• Work in Raymour & Flanigan service centers.

Our Furniture Repair Technician in Training Program trains associates to fully repair furniture for our customers, whether it be stitching upholstery, repairing wood and leather, or repairing mechanisms in motion furniture. Our Furniture Repair Technicians work and train in the comfort of our service centers.

The Repair Technician in Training is 7-12 weeks along with monetary growth based on skill completion. The training program offers five levels of craftsmanship techniques to master color, finishes, upholstery, leather, structure repair etc.

Responsibilities / Requirements:

• Ability to lift, lower, push, and pull all sizes of furniture up to and in excess of 100 lbs


• Must be comfortable working with hands and display an aptitude for craftsmanship, artistic, and/or carpentry services


• Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail and professionalism at all times


• Knowledge of mixing paints, powders and stains to match existing finishes


• Ability to repair, replace, and rebuild damaged leather, upholstery furniture, or mechanical parts


• Ability to set up and operate tools such as power drills, sanders, saws, and other tools required for repair


• Excellent listening skills and the ability to work both independently and with a team
