Job summary

HANKS FURNITURE INC is seeking a skilled Furniture Repair Technician to diagnose and repair furniture items in customers' homes and in-store settings. You will handle mechanical, structural, and cosmetic issues, perform part replacements, upholstery work, and refinishing as needed.

Responsibilities include documenting findings and repairs, maintaining parts inventory, and communicating clearly with customers and store teams. Daily travel and adherence to safety procedures are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in furniture repair, upholstery, woodworking or related skilled trade preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and diagnostic ability.
• Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs.
• Willingness to travel daily with clean driving record.

Diagnose furniture issues, including mechanical, structural, and cosmetic problems.

Complete in-home and in-store repairs such as:

• Part replacements
• Cleaning and stain treatment
• Minor upholstery work and reupholstery
• Frame, spring, and mechanism repairs
• Wood touch-ups, refinishing, and minor restoration

Document all findings, repairs, and parts used.

Communicate professionally with customers, store personnel, and the home office.

Maintain inventory of tools, supplies, and replacement parts.

Follow safety protocols and company procedures at all times.

Travel regularly within assigned service areas (company vehicle may be provided based on policy).

Qualifications

• Previous experience in furniture repair, upholstery, woodworking, or a related skilled trade preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and diagnostic ability.
• Ability to lift and move furniture and equipment up to 50 lbs.
