Job summary

American Furniture Warehouse is seeking a Furniture Repair Technician to help evaluate damaged merchandise and perform repairs on stock items, damaged product, and customer-owned goods. The role requires using hand and electrical tools, paints, dyes, and chemicals with a focus on quality and safety.

Responsibilities include reconstructing furniture, inspecting items, maintaining a repair log, and working in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Qualifications

• Preferably has at least 4 months of furniture repair experience.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Capability to operate equipment needed to do job.
• Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team and effectively communicate with all team members.
• Ability to perform physical activities such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and handling of materials.
• Organized and has attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a high performance, fast-paced team environment.
• Ability to adapt to and work effectively within a constantly changing environment.

• Maintain work area – be sure all chemicals are labeled, place all dirty rags in proper containers, be familiar with hazard communication and MSDS.

Job Overview

The Furniture Repair Technician is integral to the customer experience and the operations of the warehouse. Duties include evaluating damaged merchandise and daily repairs of stock items, damaged product, and customer owned goods.

The Repair Tech will also need to be adept at using a variety of hand and electrical tools as well as various paints, dyes, and chemicals. Experience in furniture repair, furniture assembly, upholstery, or other related training will be beneficial in this role. The right candidate will be committed to and exemplify the values of the organization, maintain a calm and professional demeanor in a fast-paced retail/warehouse environment. Extreme attention to detail and quality of work is crucial in this role.

Job Responsibilities & Duties

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

Compensation

• Starting at $16/hour and up - Dependent on experience
  • Pay Grade B: $16.00-29.71

Physical Demands

• Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time

• Vision abilities required include close, distance and depth perception
• Requires the ability to maneuver in confined and at times congested areas.
