The Opportunity

The Furniture Team Lead is the dedicated operational leader responsible for the preparation, quality control, and field execution of all furniture logistics. This critical role ensures smooth transitions between inventory and events through proactive seven-day planning and coordination with the Installation Manager, rigorous receiving checks, and effective supervision of the loading/unloading processes for all deliveries and event strikes.

Duties & Responsibilities
Planning and Preparation
  • Conduct a thorough review of all upcoming furniture orders for the following seven days in advance, collaborating directly with the Installation Manager to confirm scheduling, inventory needs, and special requirements.
  • Oversee the pulling and staging of all furniture inventory needed for the week’s confirmed orders, ensuring accuracy against the pull sheets.
  • Utilize forklift to drive, move, and operate during cycle counts and daily inventory checks to move products efficiently and safely.
Receiving and Quality Control
  • Execute detailed receiving inventory checks for all incoming orders that include furniture pieces, verifying quantities against manifests and checking for transport damage upon arrival.
  • Ensure all furniture assets are in pristine, rental-ready condition before staging for delivery, verifying the work performed by the Furniture Pad Cleaner.
Field Logistics and Team Leadership
  • Direct and actively participate in the loading of trucks with the furniture team for all outgoing deliveries, optimizing space and securing items to prevent damage in transit.
  • Direct and actively participate in the unloading of trucks following event strikes, ensuring all rented furniture is accounted for and returned to the warehouse in a timely and organized manner.
  • Provide effective day-to-day supervision and guidance to the furniture team, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and established handling procedures.
Training and Safety
  • Train new and existing team members on the proper, safe handling, counting, and quality inspection procedures for furniture inventory.
  • Enforce all company safety protocols, particularly those related to the safe stacking, moving, and handling of furniture inventory.
Qualifications & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in warehouse logistics, furniture handling, or event production.
  • Proven ability to lead a small team and manage complex loading/unloading schedules.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to perform proactive planning.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and numerical accuracy essential for verifying labels and counts.
  • Ability to lift heavy furniture items (up to 75 lbs.) and operate warehouse equipment safely.
Preferred
  • Familiarity with inventory tracking systems is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in a high-volume production, fulfillment, or assembly role is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet and sustain high hourly production targets.
Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach throughout the workday in a warehouse environment.
  • Frequently required to lift, carry, push, and pull furniture items weighing up to 75 lbs unassisted; team lift required for items exceeding 75 lbs.
  • Ability to safely maneuver, stack, and position large furniture items including tables, chairs, sofas, and other rental inventory of varying sizes and weights.
  • Must hold a valid forklift certification and be able to operate powered industrial equipment including forklifts and pallet jacks to move furniture inventory safely.
  • Must be able to remain on feet for extended periods and move throughout a large warehouse facility.
Work Environment Characteristics
  • This position operates in a warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, dust, and moving equipment.
  • The employee may occasionally be required to work in outdoor loading dock areas subject to varying weather conditions.
  • Personal Protective equipment (PPE) including safety footwear, high visibility vests, and gloves is required in designated areas.
  • Schedule flexibility is required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
