Job summary

McCoy Rockford is seeking a Full Time staff-instal­lator in Austin, TX to supervise crews installing office furniture and to coordinate with Project Manager. You will drive company vehicles and ensure site requirements are met.

The role requires 3–6 years in installation, strong communication, and the ability to train crew members on procedures while upholding safety standards. Strong customer relations skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • 3 to 6 years of work experience.
  • Office furniture installation experience preferred.
  • High School Degree or equivalent, some college preferred.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
  • Good judgment, problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work with many interruptions.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to speak to groups effectively and maintain audience interest.
  • Able to learn and pass safety driver training program.

Responsibilities

  • Review daily assignment, floor plans, installation drawings & instructions with Project Manager and/or Customer Service Coordinator to determine method and sequence of installation projects.
  • Have the ability to drive company vehicles complying with McCoy-Rockford's driving standards, and maintaining a clear driving record
  • In the absence of Project Manager, acts on their behalf to continually meet customer and site specific requirements
  • Assist in building strong customer relationships by providing feedback regarding customer expectations
  • Maintain company property assigned to crew; ensuring it is accounted for and properly taken care of
  • In the absence of a Field Supervisor, conduct Tool Box meeting to prepare crew for daily assignment
  • Check product for discrepancies and damage and documents issues to responsible parties
  • Monitor and enforce company rules, safety requirements and attend monthly safety meetings
  • Identify items to be included in punch lists, and repair punch list items
  • Maintain detailed records of job assignments and complete paperwork accurately
  • Supervise small installation crews and review their work for quality
  • Participate in evaluation of employee job performance
  • Initiate learning opportunities; train crew members on products and installation procedures
  • Complete and maintain customer site specific badge requirements

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Assist in supervising and coordinating activities of workers engaged in office furniture installation. Also assists with the installation of furniture.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
