Prepares furniture or wooden articles for finishing or refinishing, including disassembling furniture for refinishing then reassembling furniture once the finishing process is complete. Sands, hand rubs, finishes, and inspects furniture. Creates custom mix stains using spray toners and dyes; applies glazes, lacquer sealers and lacquer topcoats; mixes ingredients to match the color of the finish. Prepares finished samples and step-boards for client approval. Stains and finishes complex cabinetry as well as historic; performs two-toned or multi-toned finishes. Completes on-site touch-ups on items that cannot leave the Capitol. Other duties, as assigned.
