Aalberts Surface Technologies Fairforest is seeking a Furnace Operator to run furnace equipment and support the heat-treating process. You will set up machines, verify furnace settings, monitor operations, load/unload setups and adjust parameters to meet daily production schedules.

Responsibilities include operating related equipment such as cranes and forklifts, maintaining logs, following safety rules, and coordinating with shop staff to achieve team goals.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or equivalent required; furnace/heat-treating experience preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office to document logs and reports.

Description

SUMMARY:

The Furnace Operator is directly responsible to operate equipment necessary to perform requirements of the furnace.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for set up and prepare machines according to daily production schedules
• Prepare equipment and ensure furnace settings are accurate
• Monitor shift operation of machinery, adjusting settings as necessary
• Load and unload setups, breakdowns, and operating equipment
• Operate related equipment, such as cranes, forklifts, and power tools when required
• Follow router directions along with initial and date all pertinent information required
• Maintain accurate logs and monitor equipment to ensure it is producing the proper output
• Perform housekeeping duties to ensure a safe and clean workplace
• Use personal protective equipment as required by the job, including but not limited to the wearing of safety vest, gloves, and eye protection
• Perform duties safely, responsibly, and proficiently, observing and complying with all safety and health rules (OSHA, MTI, and SDS Standards), including safe operation of all equipment
• Reports all accidents to supervisor immediately
• Co-ordinate with outside machine shops any necessary fixtures and special machining
• Collaborate with manufacturers, internal department, and support staff to accomplish both team and company goals
• Performs similar or related work as required, directed or as situation dictates and shall exercise any additional powers that are or may be legally conferred upon the position by the Supervisor, Business Unit Director, or President.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED/PREFERRED SKILLS:

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent supplemented by one years' experience in furnace or heat-treating operations
• Reasonable knowledge of work methods, practices and procedures involved in a variety of furnace maintenance and repair activities
• Familiarity with operation of cranes, forklifts, and power tools a plus
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office software to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook required
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with other staff, vendors, contractors, and the general public
• Organized and detail-oriented with strong level of accuracy and the ability to multi-task
• Ability to prioritize and adhere to strict deadlines
• High level of integrity; ability to handle confidential information

Permanent schedule will be 3pm-11:30pm in 2027 but training is 1st shift until the end of 2026.
