Job summary

The Brown lab at the University of Utah seeks a research technician to support projects on fungal pathogenesis and biology, using molecular, cellular, and genetic approaches. The role involves performing tests, preparing samples, and following SOPs and GLPs.

You will maintain an up-to-date lab notebook, participate in lab meetings, and assist with genetic manipulation, PCR and DNA extraction, sequencing sample prep, fungal culturing, cell imaging, and pathogenesis experiments in tissue culture

Qualifications

• Requires at least 1 year of related experience.
• Equivalency statement allows 1 year of higher education to substitute for related work experience.
• Follow SOPs and GLPs in a laboratory setting.
• Work under moderate supervision and maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Support projects on fungal biology and pathogenesis through genetic manipulation, PCR, and sequencing preparation.
• Maintain an up-to-date lab notebook and participate in lab meetings.
• Assist with fungal culturing, imaging, and pathogenesis studies in tissue culture and animal models under guidance.
