Job summary

BONNEY WATSON is seeking a funeral support team member to assist the Funeral Director with planning, greeting guests, and guiding families to services at the funeral home and cemetery. The role involves coordinating with staff, handling logistics for services, and ensuring respectful, compassionate service throughout the event. The schedule is Tuesday–Saturday, 8:30 a.m.

to 5:00 p.m. An AA or higher, map-reading ability, and proficiency with Word, Excel, and Outlook are required, along with a WA

This position is Tuesday-Saturday 8:30-5:00pm.

Summary:

Provides assistance to the Funeral Director in planning, placing floral arrangements and greeting and guiding guests to the funeral home and cemetery before, during and after services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
  • Assists the Funeral Director with arranging flowers before and after funeral services.
  • Assists guests as needed including acting as Reception Host, Parking Attendant, and other duties as assigned for services. Verifies and posts details of business transactions.
  • Assists with leading families up to the gravesite locations by either meeting family in lobby and then leading up by car or by waiting for the procession to arrive from an outside location and then leading cars up to the gravesites.

  • Must be available to work the set schedule, but be flexible as needed for scheduled services

  • Good map reading skills.
Education/Experience

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or two or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Math Ability

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions.

Computer Skills

Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook are required as well as understanding of a CRM system.

Certificates and Licenses:

Must have a valid WA State Drivers license and clean driving record.

The employee will be exposed to outside weather condition on a regular basis. Noise level is moderate. The employee in this position may work day time and/or evening hours.   • Paid Sick and Safe Leave Policy:Full-Time Employees working a minimum of 30 hours are eligible for 80 hours of PSSL per year, which accrues at a rate of 3.077 hours each pay period.
  • Holidays:8 paid days, but open during certain holidays as stated below:
    • Washington Memorial Park & Mortuary:Open on all holidays except New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
    • Satellite Locations:Closed on all holidays except President’s Day and Veteran’s Day when they will maintain regularly scheduled business hours.
    • Employees who work holidays may receive holiday pay and take another day off with prior approval.

  • Monthly bonusunder the Company’s Quarterly Incentive Plan, subject to Plan eligibility requirements.

  • Pre-Need Cemetery Benefits:Following three years of continuous service in good standing, employees may be eligible for pre-need cemetery benefits.
