Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• No prior work experience required; funeral industry experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 200 pounds.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends with compassion for bereaved families.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to operate a computer and perform data entry.

Responsibilities

• Prepare casket and deceased for visitation or funeral services, dressing and transporting as needed.
• Prepare rooms for services: arrange chairs, tables, guest books, flowers, keepsakes and casket.
• Greet visitors, provide programs, answer questions, and share funeral service information.
• May serve as pallbearer.
• May drive families to cemetery site.
• After services, handle removal, cleaning, storage of company property and delivery of mementos.
