Job summary

Sci Corp in Austin, TX is seeking a Funeral Attendant to support funeral services, greet families, and prepare spaces and vehicles. You will assist with deceased preparation, drive families when needed, and handle post-service clean-up and storage.

Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is required. Responsibilities include preparing ceremony rooms and memorial materials, assisting visitors, and ensuring all materials and vehicles are presentable and ready for services.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid state issued driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• No prior work experience required; Funeral industry experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; push/pull up to 200 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Prepare casket and deceased for visitation or funeral services, dressing and transporting as needed.
• Prepare rooms for services: setting up chairs, tables, guest books, flowers and keepsakes.
• Greet visitors, provide programs, answer questions and relay funeral information.
• May serve as pallbearer and may drive families to cemetery site.
• After services, handle removal, cleaning and storage of materials; package keepsakes and flowers.
• Answer phones, screen callers, and assist with office tasks; data entry and deliveries.
