Job summary

NorthStar Memorial Group at Resthaven Funeral Home in Frederick, MD is seeking a Funeral Director/Embalmer Apprentice to join our compassionate team. You will assist licensed directors, conduct ceremonies, and support the preparation and embalming process under supervision.

Requirements include a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, and enrollment or completion of an accredited mortuary program, plus familiarity with regulations governing the profession.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Currently enrolled in or recently completed an accredited mortuary program.
• Knowledge of rules/regulations for memorial services profession.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations related to the industry.

Responsibilities

• Provide high level service to client families under Funeral Director guidance.
• Conduct funeral and memorial ceremonies in an honorable manner.
• Maintain proper chain of custody during preparation process.
• Handle the removal of the departed professionally.
• Assist with preparation including dressing, casketing, and restoring the deceased.
• Complete embalming, disinfecting, dressing, preparing, and casketing under OSHA standards and guidance.

Education

High school diploma

Currently enrolled in an accredited mortuary program

Knowledge of memorial services regulations

Knowledge of federal/state/local regulations related to the industry

NorthStar Memorial Group is seeking a Funeral Director/Embalmer Apprentice to join our team at Resthaven Funeral Home in Frederick, MD. Responsibilities

• Ensure client families receive a high level of service that is consistent with the standards of NorthStar Memorial Group under the guidance of the Funeral Director.
• Conduct funeral and memorial ceremonies in an honorable manner for the family.
• Help ensure the proper chain of custody is maintained throughout the preparation process
• Handle the removal process of the departed in a professional manner
• Assist with the preparation of the deceased including dressing, casketing, and restoring
• Complete embalming, disinfecting, dressing, preparing, and casketing of the deceased using appropriate precautions and OSHA standards in a manner that honors the deceased, under the guidance of the Funeral Director

Qualifications

• High school diploma
• Valid driver’s license
• Recently completed or currently enrolled in an accredited mortuary program
• Knowledge of rules and regulations for the memorial services profession
• Knowledge of current federal, state, and local regulations related to the industry

Compensation range of $18-22.50/hr.
