Location: Remote – Nigeria, UK, US (open globally, experience in African markets a plus)
Compensation: Success Fee + Equity (no upfront salary)
About HyperloopFT
HyperloopFT is building the financial platform of the future — designed to help people in emerging markets build, grow, and protect their wealth in a world increasingly disrupted by AI, inflation, and systemic inequality.
We provide tools for investing, trading, signals, and smart financial insights — all in one platform.
We’ve validated the model, built a working MVP, and we’re now preparing for our first fundraising round.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a Fundraising Consultant / Advisor to help us secure our next round of funding. You’ll work directly with the founder to shape our investor strategy, build relationships with angels and VCs, and help us close our pre-seed or seed round.
This is not a salaried role. We’re offering:
- A success fee (% of funds raised)
- Equity-based compensation for longer-term collaboration
- A chance to be part of a mission-driven fintech startup with global potential
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a fundraising strategy (pre-seed/seed stage)
- Refine and position our pitch deck, financial model, and narrative
- Source and introduce us to relevant angel investors, venture capitalists, and grant networks
- Assist with data room setup, due diligence, and investor Q&A
- Support negotiation of SAFE or equity terms
- Advise on cap table, valuation, and investor expectations
- Serve as a bridge between HyperloopFT and investors
Ideal Candidate
- Proven track record in raising funds for early-stage startups (ideally in fintech or emerging markets)
- Existing network of investors, syndicates, or family offices
- Experience with Africa-focused or diaspora capital is a strong plus
- Knows the ins and outs of pitching, terms sheets, cap tables, and startup finance
- Highly organized, proactive, and strategic
- Can commit for 3–6 months part-time, flexible hours
Qualifications & RequirementsEducation & Credentials
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field (preferred, not required)
- MBA or advanced degree in a relevant field is a plus
- Certifications like CFA, CAIA, or fundraising/VC credentials are a bonus
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years experience in startup fundraising, venture capital, investment banking, or financial consulting
- Proven track record of raising capital for startups (pre-seed, seed, or Series A)
- Experience working with early-stage startups in fintech, SaaS, or emerging markets
- Previous roles in VC firms, accelerators, or angel networks are highly desirable
Core Skills
- Strong knowledge of:
- Startup fundraising stages (Pre-seed to Series A)
- SAFE notes, convertible notes, and equity rounds
- Cap tables, valuations, and investor negotiations
- Excellent pitch development and storytelling ability
- Deep understanding of investor expectations and deal structures
Bonus Qualifications
- Network of investors in Africa-focused, diaspora, or impact investing circles
- Familiarity with African markets (especially Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, South Africa)
- Access to angel syndicates or family offices
- Experience using fundraising platforms (e.g., AngelList, Carta, Dealroom)
Preferred Locations
We’re open to global candidates, but preference will be given to those with experience or networks in:
- Nigeria & West Africa (strong market presence)
- UK (diaspora capital & strong VC community)
- US (especially those with Africa-focused investors in their network)
What You’ll Get
- Performance-based earnings (e.g., 5–10% success fee on funds raised)
- Advisory equity in a growing startup (vesting based on milestones)
- Visibility & potential long-term involvement in a high-impact fintech startup
- Flexible, remote working setup
