Job summary

The Sarasota Housing Authority is seeking a Development Director to lead fund development, external relations, and revenue growth for Youth Thrive and related initiatives. You will craft strategies, manage grant portfolios, and foster donor partnerships while serving as the organization’s chief ambassador in the community.

Ideal candidates will have 3–6 years in fundraising, a Bachelor's degree in a related field, and preferably a CFRE credential.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, public administration, or a related field.
• CFRE credential or active pursuit is preferred.
• 3–6 years in fundraising, stewardship, grant administration, or resource development.
• Experience managing donor or stakeholder relationships is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for clear funding proposals.

Responsibilities

• Research, prepare, and submit grant applications to foundations, corporations, and government sources.
• Administer full grant lifecycle from prospecting to reporting and stewardship.
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with program officers, foundation reps, and funding partners.
