Job summary

Jewish United Fund (JUF) in Chicago seeks an Assistant Director, Fundraising and Events to manage donor relations, supervise the JUF Professionals Network, and lead cross-network fundraising initiatives in a hybrid work setting.

The role offers a salary of $70,000-$78,000 plus benefits including a 401(k) match, 22 vacation days, 11 sick days, and up to 21 paid holidays, reflecting JUF’s commitment to staff and community impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• 4+ years of experience in a fundraising institution.
• Experience with face-to-face communication with donors or other professionals is required
• Excellent written communication skills, able to handle multiple projects at a time, and highly organized
• Ability to establish and monitor priorities, maintain flexibility, and meet deadlines with limited direct supervision
• Experience planning, executing, and evaluating successful events
• Experience crafting tailored cultivation and solicitation strategies for new and existing donors
• Ability to become proficient in Salesforce and other software platforms
• Proficient in all Microsoft Office Suite of products
• Passion for fundraising
• Knowledge of Jewish community, culture, heritage, traditions, and Jewish communal services preferred
• Supervisory experience and experience working with a database software are a plus

Responsibilities

• Perform responsibilities of a Donor Officer, including research on donors, building relationships, and meetings to increase giving.
• Oversee Campaign operation elements of JPN and supervise Administrative Aide.
• Work with volunteer leadership and staff to implement JPN programs, events, and initiatives for fundraising and leadership development.
• Manage administration of the professional networks, generate fundraising reports, and maintain records.
• Coordinate with other JUF departments to support Annual Campaign events, phonothons, and special events.
• Support JUF Campaign and related activities ongoing.
