Job summary

The Lewis JCC & JCCNNJ in Rockland County, NY seeks a Development Associate to join its fundraising team. You will support donor engagement, campaigns, and events while assisting with development initiatives that advance the organization's mission.

Lead with donor stewardship, coordinate communications, and help grow a culture of philanthropy across individual giving, major gifts, and corporate/foundation support. Evening/weekend flexibility required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of progressive development or fundraising experience.
• Strong relationship-building and donor-centered approach.
• Professional written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organization, project management, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and with a team, meeting deadlines.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace; Bloomerang experience preferred.
• Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends.
• JCC or Jewish nonprofit experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with development plan execution across giving programs and events.
• Support donor research, outreach tracking, and communications.
• Prepare donor materials, proposals, and stewardship resources.
• Manage donor meetings, cultivation, and recognition activities.
• Plan and support fundraising events and sponsorships.
• Maintain accurate donor records in the CRM and generate reports.
• Collaborate with Marketing and staff to highlight impact.
