Job summary

Childrens Receiving Home in Sacramento seeks a Fund Development Director to design and execute a comprehensive fundraising program that increases private revenue and donor engagement. This role partners with the CEO and Board to align strategies with organizational priorities and long-term financial resilience.

The position leads major gifts cultivation, donor stewardship, and moves management while collaborating with program, finance, and communications teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of progressive nonprofit fundraising experience with major gifts
• Demonstrated ability to personally cultivate, solicit, and close significant gifts
• Experience managing a comprehensive development program including major gifts, grants, events, and campaigns
• Experience with prospect research, moves management, and donor pipeline development
• Strong understanding of donor engagement and revenue generation
• Bachelor's degree required; CFRE or advanced degree preferred

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive fund development plan to grow donor revenue across individuals, corporations, foundations, and planned giving
• Lead major gifts cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities with senior donors
• Oversee donor portfolio, moves management, upgrades, and retention strategies across all giving levels
• Identify and cultivate new donor prospects; manage prospect research and pipeline development
• Oversee grant opportunities, reporting, and compliance with funders
• Represent CRH publicly, build partnerships, and assist Board with fundraising priorities
