Job summary

CAHEC seeks a Fund Manager to lead investment modeling, reporting, and cash management for our limited partnership portfolio. The role blends office work in Raleigh, NC with a dedicated home office as a hybrid position.

You will manage investor reporting, update projection models, supervise tax schedules, and ensure data integrity while coordinating with partners and investors across CAHEC's real estate investments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum three years of real estate investments or related finance work.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, Excel modeling, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Manage investor reporting for partnership entities from inception to dissolution.
  • Maintain and update investment models, operating expenses, tax losses, and projections.
  • Oversee cash needs and ensure funds are available for disbursements on schedule.
  • Prepare investor financial statements and tax-related schedules.
  • Ensure data integrity and timely reporting to investors.

CAHEC is a community investment organization that strengthens communities by providing affordable housing and supportive service initiatives to residents in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. CAHEC engages in diverse product areas, including low-income housing tax credits, historic tax credits, new markets tax credits, and renewable energy credits. Additionally, CAHEC offers loan programs, wellness and education initiatives for residents, affordable housing development, and property management services.

The Fund Manager is responsible for managing, modeling, and reporting for all types of a limited partnership’s tax credit investments and related entities. A Fund Manager maintains and audits fund models within CAHEC’s existing portfolio of limited partnership investment entities while leading analyst efforts to evaluate and direct the capital needs for their assigned funds. The position ensures data integrity, analyzes and updates data in projections, performs cash management, and prepares, approves, and delivers timely reports to our investors. The employment classification for this position is exempt.

Some specific functions include:

  • Manage investor reporting for partnership entities from inception to dissolution.
  • Manage the investment model for each partnership entity and update fee structure, operating expenses, project tax losses, capital calls, line of credit utilization, tax documentation and updated projections.
  • Manage the cash needs of partnership entities to ensure available funds to disburse according to timeline.
  • Prepare investor reports including financial statements and deliver within designated timelines.
  • Prepare tax related schedules, review and reconcile tax returns to systems.
Education Requirement

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; or an equivalent combination of education and comparable work experience.

Work Experience

Minimum Three (3) years progressive work experience in real estate investments or and equivalent financial field.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

This position requires a solid knowledge of GAAP, the ability to run complex Excel models, and strong attention to detail. Qualified candidates must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines, and the ability to manage confidential data. This position requires experience with Excel (intermediate level), Word, Outlook, Adobe and accounting software.

This position is classified as hybrid remote and works from both the CAHEC corporate office in Raleigh, NC and a dedicated home office. Travel, typically by either commercial airline or automobile, is required for this position. Certain objectives require traveling to various locations to meet with partners, visiting properties in CAHEC’s investment portfolio, attending industry-related events, and professional training opportunities.
