Job summary

Ascension DePaul Foundation in New Orleans is seeking a Fund Development Manager to lead fundraising initiatives and donor relationships. You will work with ADSNO leadership, the Foundation Board, donors, and partners to advance philanthropic goals and manage day-to-day development operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, business administration, communications, marketing, or related field.

• Experience researching, writing, submitting, and managing grant proposals, applications, and reports for foundations, corporations, governmental entities, and other funding sources.

Job description

Fund Development Manager

The Fund Development Manager serves as a key member of the development team responsible

for planning, coordinating, and implementing ongoing fundraising initiatives and special projects

through the Ascension DePaul Foundation, which supports the mission, programs, and strategic

goals of Ascension DePaul Services of New Orleans (ADSNO).

This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Foundation's development

activities and provides administrative and operational support to the Foundation Board. The

Fund Development Manager works closely with organizational leadership, board members,

donors, community partners, and other stakeholders to strengthen philanthropic support and

advance the Foundation's fundraising goals.

Key responsibilities include continuous identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and

stewardship of prospective and existing donors, including individuals, corporations, foundations,

and community partners. The Fund Development Manager also supports donor communications,

relationship management, and follow-up to ensure consistent and meaningful engagement.

The Fund Development Manager serves as the staff lead or key support person for special

fundraising programs, campaigns, and events. Responsibilities include assisting with planning,

coordination, execution, and evaluation of special events, sponsorship activities, donor

engagement opportunities, and other fundraising initiatives.

Additional responsibilities include:

Researching grant opportunities and preparing, writing, submitting, and tracking grant

proposals, applications, reports, and related correspondence.

Maintaining accurate donor and prospect information within the organization's

development database, including tracking contributions, pledges, acknowledgments,

sponsorships, and follow-up activities.

Preparing timely donor acknowledgment letters, correspondence, reports, and other

stewardship communications.

Collecting, organizing, analyzing, and maintaining program and fundraising data to

support grant applications, reports, donor communications, and measurement of

organizational impact.

Assisting with the development and maintenance of fundraising reports, prospect lists,

donor histories, and performance metrics.

Managing and regularly updating development-related content on the organization's

website, including donor recognition, sponsorship information, special events,

campaigns, and other relevant information.

Coordinating with staff and external partners to ensure that website information,

promotional materials, and fundraising communications remain current and accurate.

Supporting the planning and execution of fundraising and community engagement

events, including sponsorship solicitation, vendor coordination, registration, logistics,

donor recognition, and post-event follow-up.

Providing administrative and logistical support for meetings and activities of the

Ascension DePaul Foundation Board and its committees.

Assisting with the development of fundraising materials, sponsorship packages, donor

communications, presentations, and other collateral.

Maintaining appropriate documentation and records related to grants, donations,

sponsorships, events, and other development activities.

Working collaboratively with leadership and program staff to identify funding priorities,

gather program information and outcomes, and develop compelling cases for

philanthropic support.

Supporting the effective operation of development services and performing other duties

and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

The successful candidate should possess a combination of education, professional experience,

communication skills, and demonstrated success in nonprofit development and fundraising.

Preferred qualifications include:

Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business administration, communications,

marketing, public relations, or a related field. Relevant professional experience may be

considered in lieu of a degree.

Minimum of 3–5 years of progressively responsible experience in fundraising, nonprofit

development, grants management, donor relations, or a related area.

Demonstrated experience researching, writing, submitting, and managing grant proposals,

applications, and reports for foundations, corporations, governmental entities, and other

funding sources.

Experience identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding individual, corporate,

foundation, and community donors.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop

compelling grant proposals, donor correspondence, sponsorship materials, reports, and

other development communications.

Experience planning and coordinating fundraising events, special events, donor

cultivation activities, sponsorship programs, and community engagement initiatives.

Experience working with donor management or fundraising databases and maintaining

accurate donors, prospect, gift, pledge, and acknowledgment records.

Ability to collect, organize, analyze, and report program and fundraising data to

demonstrate outcomes, impact, and return on investment to funders and stakeholders.

Experience maintaining and updating website content and coordinating digital

communications related to fundraising campaigns, events, sponsorships, and donor

recognition.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and

Outlook. Familiarity with donor management systems, online fundraising platforms, and

website content management systems is highly desirable.

Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage

multiple projects, deadlines, events, grants, and competing priorities simultaneously.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records, timely follow-

up, and appropriate donor confidentiality.

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with executive leadership, board members,

staff, volunteers, donors, community partners, and external stakeholders.

Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, take initiative, and follow

projects through to completion.

Ability and willingness to attend occasional evening or weekend meetings, fundraising

events, and community activities as required.
