Fund Controller – Venture Capital

A leading venture capital firm based in Boston, MA is seeking an experienced Fund Controller to join its team on a contract basis. In this role, you’ll play a key part in the day-to-day operations of the firm’s investment funds—managing fund administration, ensuring data integrity, and supporting reporting efforts tied to fundraising. This is a high-impact role for a seasoned professional with deep knowledge of fund operations in venture capital or private equity.

This is a 3+ month contract opportunity that will pay $80-$90/hour depending on experience. This position offers 100% remote flexibility, though candidates must be local to Boston or NYC.

Key Responsibilities:

• Fund Operations Oversight: Lead and manage all aspects of fund administration to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
• Investor Reporting: Support the creation and management of fundraising and investor reports, delivering accurate and timely insights.
• Data Quality Assurance: Conduct regular checks within the LP Portal and related systems to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
• Document & Data Management: Maintain up-to-date fund documentation and ensure proper posting across internal and external platforms.
• General Support: Provide additional operational and administrative support to the finance and investment teams as needed.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
• 10+ years of experience in fund administration within venture capital, private equity, or similar environments
• Strong understanding of early-stage investment structures and financial instruments
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial data and reporting
• Proficiency with fund administration software and LP Portal platforms
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex legal and financial documents
