Job summary

Atlas Search in New York seeks an experienced Fund Controller to oversee accounting and reporting for a private credit fund and related vehicles. You will work with investment, operations, tax, and finance teams to ensure accurate NAV, financial statements, and investor reporting.

You will lead fund accounting, coordinate audits, manage relationships with administrators and auditors, and drive improvements in fund finance processes, while mentoring staff and maintaining strict controls in line

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 7–10+ years of fund accounting or alternative investment experience.
• Private credit, private equity, or hedge fund experience strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of fund accounting, NAV, U.S. GAAP, and partnership structures.
• Understanding of private credit investments and loan accounting.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to work with senior investment professionals.

Responsibilities

• Oversee fund accounting, NAV, and monthly/quarterly close processes.
• Review accounting for loans, interest income, fees, PIK interest, repayments, and investment activity.
• Oversee management fees, fund expenses, capital activity, and investor allocations.
• Coordinate quarterly and annual financial statements and external audits.
• Manage relationships with fund administrators, auditors, and tax advisors.
• Partner with the investment team on portfolio activity, valuations, restructurings, and new investments.
• Maintain strong financial controls and compliance with fund documents and U.S. GAAP.
• Support investor reporting and ad hoc financial analysis.
• Lead and develop fund accounting staff and improve fund finance processes.
