Job summary

Frederick Fox, a private equity organization, seeks a hands-on controllership professional reporting to CFO to own management company and corporate accounting infrastructure. The role requires operating across multi-entity structures, partnership accounting, and scale-up of the accounting function.

You will manage month-end close, collaborate with tax and external auditors, strengthen internal controls, and identify automation opportunities. CPA or strong public accounting background preferred.

Qualifications

• Hands-on corporate accounting experience in private equity or similar asset manager.
• Strong partnership accounting experience with multi-entity structures.
• CPA and/or strong public accounting foundation preferred.
• Comfortable working directly in the GL and accounting details when necessary.
• Experience improving processes, controls, and accounting infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Lead management company and corporate accounting functions.
• Own month-end and quarter-end close processes.
• Manage accounting across multiple entities including partnerships.
• Handle partnership accounting, including capital accounts, allocations and distributions.
• Support accounting for management fees, compensation and PE-specific activities.
• Strengthen internal controls, policies and procedures.
• Partner with tax teams and external advisors on partnership matters.
• Support treasury, cash management and liquidity reporting.
• Coordinate with external auditors and third-party providers.
• Identify opportunities to automate and improve accounting processes.

Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a hands-on controllership role supporting the corporate and management-company accounting infrastructure of a sophisticated private equity organization.

The ideal candidate brings deep corporate accounting and controllership experience within a private equity or alternative asset management environment, including meaningful exposure to partnership accounting and complex entity structures.

This is not an advisory-only position. The firm needs experienced operators who can step into the details immediately, take ownership, improve processes, and help scale the accounting organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead key aspects of the management company and corporate accounting function
• Own and support month-end and quarter-end close processes
• Manage accounting across multiple corporate, management company and partnership entities
• Handle partnership accounting, including partner/member capital accounts, allocations and distributions
• Support accounting related to management fees, compensation and other private equity-specific activities
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies and procedures
• Partner with tax teams and outside advisors on partnership and entity-level matters
• Support treasury, cash management and liquidity reporting
• Coordinate with external auditors and other third-party providers
• Identify opportunities to automate and improve accounting processes and reporting
• Help build scalable finance infrastructure as the organization continues to grow
• Work directly with the CFO on accounting, reporting and strategic finance initiatives

Ideal Background

• Hands-on accounting experience within a private equity, private credit, alternative asset manager or comparable investment organization
• Strong corporate / management-company accounting background
• Demonstrated partnership accounting experience
• Experience with complex multi-entity organizational structures
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, close and internal controls
• Comfortable working directly in the GL and accounting details when necessary
• Experience improving processes, controls and accounting infrastructure
• CPA and/or public accounting foundation preferred
