Job summary

The Northern Trust Company seeks a seasoned hedge fund accounting professional in Chicago to manage fund close processes, reporting, and audits. You will partner with clients, auditors, and internal teams to deliver accurate statements and insights.

Required: Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance, CPA/CA/ACCA, and experience in hedge fund accounting, fund administration, or financial services, plus system implementations. Emphasis on integrity, service, and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Professional accounting designation such as CPA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with hedge fund accounting, fund administration, or financial services.
• Experience working with external auditors and complex accounting matters preferred.
• Experience supporting system implementations, process improvements, or client onboarding initiatives is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Review monthly fund and legal entity close packages for accuracy and completeness.
• Analyze and report financial data for delivery to clients and their investors.
• Oversee the monthly close process and finalize fund performance and financial results.
• Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate annual audits and ensure accuracy of audited financial statements.
• Lead onboarding discovery and requirements gathering for new client initiatives, testing system enhancements.
