Job summary

Russell Tobin is seeking a Fund Accounting Supervisor to join its Alternative Investment Funds team, supporting hedge fund and private equity clients. The role oversees daily fund accounting activities, mentors analysts, and acts as a primary contact for investment managers.

Responsibilities include NAV calculations, reconciliations, reporting, and ensuring GAAP compliance. Ideal candidates have 2+ years in fund accounting and knowledge of hedge funds or private equity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in related field.
• 2+ years of experience within fund accounting or fund services.
• Experience with alternative investments (hedge funds and/or private equity) preferred.
• Strong understanding of reconciliations, NAV calculations, financial reporting, and fund accounting processes.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate accounting records for hedge fund and private equity investments.
• Perform and review NAV calculations, reconciliations, pricing, and financial reporting.
• Prepare and review accounting packages and ensure timely, accurate client deliverables.
• Support year-end audits and ensure fund records align with GAAP.
• Assist with due diligence and compliance-related requirements.
• Serve as a primary contact for investment managers regarding reconciliations and reporting.
• Train, supervise, and develop fund accounting analysts on systems and procedures.
• Review analyst work for accuracy and potential issues before client delivery.
• Support performance reviews, career development, and team training.
• Participate in interviewing and staffing efforts; partner with management on culture.
