Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Fund Accounting Manager / Assistant Controller in Grapevine, TX, to own the accounting function for real estate funds. The role covers fund-level accounting, investor activity, and financial reporting within a growing platform.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in accounting with real estate fund experience, GP/LP structures, and strong Excel skills, aiming to advance toward a Controller-level position.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting experience
• Real estate fund accounting experience required
• Fund accounting or fund management experience strongly preferred
• Understanding of GP/LP structures
• Experience with waterfalls, capital calls, distributions, and investor allocations
• Familiarity with PPMs and fund governing documents
• Strong month-end close experience
• Experience in private equity real estate or related field
• Strong Excel and financial reporting skills
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of the accounting function

Responsibilities

• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
• Perform and review fund-level accounting and financial reporting
• Manage accounting related to GP and LP structures
• Prepare and review capital calls and distributions
• Calculate and review investor allocations and waterfall calculations
• Maintain accurate accounting records across funds and investment entities
• Work with PPMs, operating agreements, and other fund documentation
• Assist with investor and management reporting
• Prepare account reconciliations and supporting schedules
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax providers, fund administrators, and other third-party partners as needed
• Support accounting and reporting for real estate investments and related entities
• Help improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting as the organization grows
• Take on increasing ownership of the accounting function with potential Controller-level growth
