Job summary

Atlas Search is seeking a senior fund accounting leader for its newly launched real estate credit platform in Boston. You will report to the CAO, own accounting and reporting for credit vehicles, and oversee the third-party fund administrator.

The platform is growing, offering an opportunity to build processes while the team is still early. You will lead reporting, audits, and tax compliance, supervise staff, and collaborate with asset management, capital markets, and legal teams in a hybrid

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in real estate credit or debt fund accounting, private credit, or public accounting, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting and reporting for real estate credit funds, separate accounts, and related vehicles under US GAAP.
• Review financial statements, footnotes, consolidations, and covenant calculations, including work prepared by the third-party administrator.
• Manage accounting for loan originations, fundings, repayments, amendments, and restructurings, plus subscription line and back leverage activity.
• Oversee investor reporting, capital activity, allocations, and performance metrics (IRR, TWR, multiples).
• Coordinate annual audits and tax compliance, including REIT, blocker, and feeder structures.
• Monitor cash flow and liquidity, and support valuation and lender reporting.
• Research complex technical accounting matters and write audit-ready conclusions.
• Build and improve policies, controls, and close processes.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop the accounting team.
• Partner with asset management, originations, capital markets, legal, tax, and compliance.

Job description

A well-established real estate investment firm is hiring a senior fund accounting leader for its newly launched real estate credit platform. You'd report directly to the CAO, own accounting and reporting for the credit vehicles, and oversee the third-party fund administrator. The platform launched within the last year and more vehicles are coming, so this is a chance to build process and shape the function while it's still early. The CAO and the full accounting team sit in Boston, and the role is hybrid, 3 days a week in the office.

What you'll do:
