Job summary

Manhattan West is seeking a Staff Accountant to maintain ledgers, prepare analyses, and support the closing process, financial reporting, and audits.

The role involves journal entries, bank reconciliations, and coordinating with fund managers and auditors. Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in accounting and at least two years of related experience, with strong Excel skills and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field is required.
• At least two years of relevant accounting experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Strong problem solving, organizational and analytical abilities.
• Excellent written, listening, and verbal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain books and records for monthly bank statements and reconcile cash accounts.
• Enter journal entries and maintain books for funds or SPVs.
• Monitor and reconcile accounts, including intercompany, and correct discrepancies.
• Prepare accounting information for internal reporting, regulatory and tax filings.
• Prepare investor equity allocation schedules, including NAV by investor.
• Calculate management fees and other performance fees.
• Prepare weekly payment runs and submit wires for approval.
• Assist with ad hoc duties and projects as needed.
• Update information with vendors and third parties.
• Prepare periodic, year-end, quarterly, and regulatory reports; manage audits.
• Liaise with fund managers, third-party administrators, auditors, tax providers, and operations.
• Assist team with financial, administrative, and analysis tasks.
