Job summary

Lazard Asset Management in New York, NY is seeking a Fund Accountant for marketable funds and private equity vehicles. The role reports to the VP and Co-Head of Family Office Services, with responsibilities across NAV validation, data maintenance, and investor reporting.

The candidate will support audits, tax filings, cash management, and regulatory filings, requiring a bachelor’s in accounting and internship experience in financial services, plus Excel proficiency and familiarity with Addepar.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting.
• Relevant internship experience in accounting/financial services.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel emphasized).
• Knowledge of Addepar is a plus; experience with AI is mentioned.
• Ability to multitask with good time management and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and in a team; meticulous with details.

Responsibilities

• Review NAV calculations and trial balances for funds for accuracy and completeness.
• Enter and maintain investment and investor data in the data warehouse.
• Prepare quarterly investment-overview materials and capital-account reporting for private equity funds.
• Oversee preparation and review of fund financial statements and capital accounts.
• Oversee fund treasury operations including capital calls and distributions.
• Assist with annual fund audits and liaise with external auditors.
• Manage relationships with external tax preparers and monitor tax filings.
• Review investor Schedule K-1s and tax estimates for accuracy.
• Assist with fund forecasts, budgets, and management reporting.
• Respond to internal inquiries with accurate data and documentation.
• Assist with regulatory filings and internal initiatives.
