Job summary

Booktemps is seeking a Fund Accountant in New York City. The ideal candidate will have a background in Big 4 Public Accounting and at least 4 years of experience in Asset Management or Hedge Fund accounting. Responsibilities include financial reporting and compliance with SEC and SOX regulations.

This position has transitioned to full-time due to company growth and requires excellent communication skills. A CPA or MBA in finance is preferred.

Qualifications

• 4 years of experience in Asset Management, Private Equity or Hedge Fund.
• SEC and/or SOX compliance experience.
• CPA or MBA (finance) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Financial Reporting.
• Ensure timely completion of US finance mandates including audits.
• Compliance with SEC and/or SOX requirements.

Our client, an established Asset Management Firm is looking for a Fund Accountant. A candidate with Big 4 Public Accounting and some Hedge Fund Accounting experience is preferred. A BookTemps associate has been serving in this position for 2 years on a part‑time basis. The position has been elevated to full‑time direct hire due to company growth. Ideal candidate should have at least 4 years of experience in a similar field. A CPA or MBA (finance) is preferred.

Responsibilities include:

• Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Financial Reporting
• Fund Financial Statements – ensure timely completion of US finance mandates including audits, regulatory, tax and other filings
• SEC and/or SOX Compliance
• External Audit Compliance
• Tax Compliance and Reporting

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 4 years of Big 4 experience with engagements that include Asset Management, Private Equity or Hedge Fund clients
• SEC and/or SOX experience
• CPA or MBA (finance) preferred
• Excellent communication skills
