Job summary

Brevard Public Schools is hiring a Fund Accountant for the ACCESS Project in Melbourne, Florida. You will review, monitor, and maintain accounting records for the district’s funds and prepare monthly financial reports while keeping ledgers up to date.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in business, finance, or a related field, plus several years of accounting experience; a Florida driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance or related field is required.
• An associate degree with four or more years of progressively responsible work experience is required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent with seven years of progressively responsible work experience is required.
• Must be able to operate a computer and standard office equipment.
• Preferred: governmental accounting experience.

• Prepare the District’s financial reports and maintain ledgers monthly.

Education

Job Description

SCOPE: Reviewing, monitoring, and maintaining accounting records for the district’s various funds. Preparation of the District’s financial reports including the monthly maintenance of all ledgers.

QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION AND RELEVANT EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

REQUIRED:

• High School Diploma or equivalent plus at least seven (7) years of progressively responsible work experience.
• An Associates Degree from an accredited educational institution plus four (4) years’ of progressively more responsible work experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance or related field.
• Must be able to operate a computer and standard office equipment.

PREFERRED/DESIRED:

• Governmental accounting experience preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/TRAINING: REQUIRED:

• Valid Florida Driver’s license.
