LHH is seeking a Fund Accountant for a growing financial services organization located in Chicago's West Loop. The Fund Accountant will support day-to-day fund accounting, month-end close, reconciliations, financial reporting, and investment-related accounting activities.

Candidates with direct fund accounting experience are highly preferred; however, those with strong general ledger and financial reporting experience in asset management, investment management, private equity, banking, or other

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• Fund accounting experience highly preferred.
• Candidates with general accounting experience in financial services will be considered.
• Experience in asset management or related environments is strongly preferred.
• Solid understanding of GL, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Exposure to NAV calculations or capital activity is a plus.
• Advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP).

LHH is seeking a Fund Accountant for a growing financial services organization located in Chicago's West Loop. This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional with fund accounting experience or general accounting experience within the financial services industry.

The Fund Accountant will support day-to-day fund accounting, month-end close, reconciliations, financial reporting, and investment-related accounting activities. Candidates with direct fund accounting experience are highly preferred; however, candidates with strong general ledger and financial reporting experience from an asset management, investment management, private equity, banking, or other financial services environment will also be considered.

• Position Type: Temp-to-Hire or Direct Hire
• Location: West Loop, Chicago
• Worksite Type: Hybrid, 1 day onsite per week
• Hourly Rate: $35-$41/hour
• Direct Hire Salary: $75,000-$80,000

Fund Accountant Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and maintenance of accounting records for investment funds and related entities
• Prepare and post journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger activity
• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
• Perform cash, bank, investment, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Assist with calculating and reviewing fund-level activity and net asset values (NAV), as applicable
• Track investment activity, including purchases, sales, income, expenses, and other fund transactions
• Assist with capital activity, including contributions and distributions, as applicable
• Support the preparation of fund financial statements, investor reporting, and supporting schedules
• Review and reconcile fund expenses, management fees, and other accounting activity
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and reconciling items
• Maintain supporting documentation for fund and investment transactions
• Assist with audit requests and provide schedules and supporting documentation
• Partner with internal teams and external service providers to resolve accounting and reporting issues
• Prepare ad hoc financial analyses and reports as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• Fund accounting experience highly preferred
• Candidates without direct fund accounting experience will be considered if they have general accounting experience within financial services
• Experience within asset management, investment management, private equity, banking, or a similar financial services environment is strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close
• Exposure to investment accounting, fund reporting, NAV calculations, or capital activity is a plus
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with complex financial data
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet reporting deadlines
• Strong communication and organizational skills
