Job summary

A leading recruitment firm seeks a Fund Accountant for a global investment firm based in Darien, Connecticut. The role includes processing daily capital activities, preparing journal entries, and supporting audits. Qualifications

  • Experience in private equity or financial services is a plus.

  • Maintain the investor portal and manage access requests.
  • Assure annual audit activities and respond to auditor inquiries.

Job description

LHH Recruitment has partnered with a Global Investment firm in their search for a Fund Accountant. This role will report to the Senior Fund Accountant and provide accounting support and reporting functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and track daily capital activity notices (capital calls, distributions, carried interest).
  • Set up wires for capital activities using the online banking portal.
  • Prepare journal entries for capital activities and management company books.
  • Prepare and manage strategic investor notices based on fund notices.
  • Maintain the investor portal, including posting notices and managing access requests.
  • Prepare and reconcile quarterly workpapers for assigned entities; generate member capital account statements.
  • Assist with monthly and quarterly book closing for the management company
  • Support annual audit activities and respond to auditor inquiries.
  • Provide information to tax service providers for annual Schedule K-1 preparation.
  • Liaise with third‑party fund administrators as needed.
  • Respond to ad hoc requests from members and internal teams.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 0-2 years of experience working with Funds/Investments
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret fund governing documents, organizational charts, and fund relationships.
  • Strong organizational skills; able to prioritize and manage multiple assignments in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with professionals at all levels.
  • Effective time‑management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience in private equity or financial services is a plus.
  • CPA designation or intent to pursue CPA certification.
