Job summary

IntelliBee in Mechanicsburg, PA is seeking a Functional Tester to perform end-to-end testing of a web-based application, focusing on IE rules for public assistance programs.

Candidates will write and execute test scenarios, review docs, and coordinate with teams to ensure defects are clearly documented and resolved, while balancing multiple priorities and delivering on schedule.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of end-to-end software testing experience including writing and executing test scenarios and documenting defects.
• Experience testing Health and Human Services systems, especially IE rules for TANF, Medicaid, SNAP, and Child Care.
• Knowledge of testing techniques: white-box, black-box, coverage, and regression.
• Review docs, define test objectives, write/update test cases, and execute functional/regression tests for web apps.
• Ability to write/moderate SQL queries to validate database results.
• Experience testing web-based replacements of legacy systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team;
• Prioritize multiple assignments and coordinate across teams to share findings.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills; able to perform under pressure.
• Willingness to live and work in central Pennsylvania.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day: review system documentation, identify test objectives, develop/update test scenarios, and execute functional and regression test scenarios for a web-based application.
• Create test artifacts: objectives, scenarios, test cases, defects, failed reports, regression tests, and peer-review feedback.

Functional Tester

Required Skills:

• Candidates must have at least 3 years of end-to-end software testing experience to include writing and executing test scenarios in addition to analyzing and clearly documenting programming defects (software bugs) that are inconsistent with stated requirements and design specifications.
• Must have experience testing Health and Human Services (HHS) systems, with a focus on Integrated Eligibility (IE) rules testing of various public assistance programs including Cash (TANF), Medical Assistance (Medicaid), Food Benefits (SNAP), and Child Care.
• Proficiency with testing techniques – Must understand the various approaches used in testing, including white-box, black-box, coverage, and regression.
• Demonstrated experience testing batches, interfaces (including flat files and SOAP UI), reports, security roles (including coarse-grain and fine-grain), and data conversion.
• Demonstrated proficiency in reviewing system documentation, identifying test objectives, writing and updating test cases, and executing functional and regression test scenarios for web-based applications.
• Ability to independently write and modify SQL queries of moderate complexity to validate database results.
• Experience testing Web-based replacement of legacy systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Ability to balance multiple assignments and prioritize effectively to ensure work delivery according to project timelines.
• Ability to coordinate across teams to gather information, present findings, and resolve issues.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment.
• Ability to deliver under pressure.
• A willingness to live and work in central Pennsylvania.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with methodologies including but not limited to Agile, RUP, Lean, or Waterfall.
• Experience using Azure DevOps to write and run test cases.
• A Bachelor's Degree or higher in a relevant field.
