Job description

Seeking an experienced Test Engineer who can create and execute test plans, procedures and scenarios for unit, process, function, and system integration testing. The Test Engineer shall consult with the development and/or requirements team to coordinate and test applications. The Engineer shall participate in the full scope of applications testing, including recommending software for testing or bug tracking, installing and configuring testing environments, and using testing programs. The Engineer will write detailed test plans, procedures and scenarios covering database impacts, regression testing, negative testing, usability, and interfaces for new and existing systems. The Engineer will create and update automated scripts, document test procedures, plan test schedules or strategies per project scope, and document results using a bug tracking system. Testing will include software compatibility tests with programs, hardware, operating systems, or network environments, identifying and documenting program issues, preparing system modification tests, ensuring compliance with standards, and performing debugging procedures. The Engineer will investigate customer problems referred by technical support, collaborate with others to diagnose issues, recommend solutions, participate in product design reviews, provide feedback on usability and functionality, and be familiar with cloud environments for new application development or legacy application transition to the cloud.

Basic Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Demonstrated experience interpreting requirements and translating them into precise test cases and test scenarios
• Demonstrated experience building test plans and strategies, monitoring progress toward desired results
• Experience developing test scenarios and procedures for web applications, APIs, and backend services
• Understanding of software testing methodologies, including unit, integration, regression, and performance testing
• Experience working in Agile environments using JIRA and Confluence

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Experience developing and maintaining reusable test scenarios and reporting dashboards
• Experience working with SQL to assess data state before and after test transactions
• Familiarity with Unix/Linux commands
• Experience testing applications with integrated cloud technologies such as Amazon Web Services
• Excellent communication, explaining protocols and procedures to technical and non-technical audiences
• Familiarity with load and performance testing tools (JMeter, k6, Gatling)
• Knowledge of web accessibility standards
• Experience with containerized test environments (Docker, Kubernetes)
