Job summary

Teradyne is seeking a Machine Safety Engineer to ensure automated test systems meet safety standards and regulatory requirements from concept through deployment. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
• Master's degree in Engineering preferred.
• 5+ years in product or system safety engineering.
• Experience with automated test systems, robotics, or production lines.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and document risk assessments, FMEA/FMEDA, and hazard analyses.
• Define performance levels and verify via safety protocols.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement protective measures.
• Apply ISO 12100, ISO 13849, IEC 61508, IEC 60204-1 standards.
• Support third-party certification (CE, TUV, SEMI) and maintain compliance docs.
• Provide safety design guidance for systems and test setups.
• Evaluate safety circuits, E-stops, interlocks, light curtains.
• Deliver safety training to engineers and operations staff.
• Promote proactive safety engagement across teams.
