Job summary

Vaspire Technologies Inc. in Michigan seeks a Senior Functional Safety Engineer to serve as the technical owner for ISO 26262 work products and lead the safety execution across the product lifecycle for high-voltage lithium-ion battery systems.

You will develop and maintain safety deliverables, collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, suppliers, and customers to ensure safety requirements are defined, implemented, verified, and maintained from concept through production.

Qualifications

• 6+ years experience in automotive functional safety.
• Proficient in safety analyses (FMEDA, DFMEA, DFA, FTA).
• Experience with ISO 26262 deliverables and evidence.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical execution of ISO 26262 functional safety activities across the product lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain safety deliverables and evidence for compliant product development.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, suppliers and customers to ensure safety requirements are defined, implemented, verified and maintained.

Job description

The Senior Functional Safety Engineer serves as the technical owner for Functional Safety work products and is responsible for leading the technical execution of ISO 26262 functional safety activities throughout the product development lifecycle for high-voltage lithium-ion battery systems at Client company .This position develops and maintains the technical safety deliverables and evidence required to support compliant product development. The Senior Functional Safety Engineer works closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, suppliers, and customers to ensure Functional Safety requirements are effectively defined, implemented, verified, and maintained throughout the development lifecycle.

• 6+ yrs experience in Automotive Functional Safety
• Prepared Design document, BOM, Test plans, Component Selection and Cost Optimization (VAVE).
• Functional Safety Analysis (FuSA) using ISO26262 std performing DFMEA, FMEDA, DFA, FTA (Tool- Ansys Medini& MS Excel).
• Analysis of WCCA (Worst Case Circuit Analysis) using Mathcad and MS Excel.
• High level block diagram, Schematic capture, BOM), PCB Layout design & guidelines
• Involved in Hardware Design, Testing & Development (End-End Product Development)
• Hardware Software interface specification [HSIS]
• Hardware Safety life cycle activities [ISO26262-Part5]
• Hardware safety requirements specification
• Hardware Architectural Definition and Safety Analysis
• Hardware module design and work product creation
• Evaluation of hardware architectural metrics [FIT]
