Job summary

CORE Occupational Medicine in Dallas, USA seeks a Functional Safety Engineer to plan and execute ISO 26262 activities for semiconductor development. You will develop safety plans, safety cases, and safety manuals, and collaborate with design and test teams to implement safety mechanisms.

The role requires 5+ years of relevant experience and a degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent. This is an on-site position based in Dallas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute ISO 26262 semiconductor development activities (Part 5 and Part 11).
• Develop and maintain the safety plan, safety case, and safety manual for assigned products.
• Build and review FMEDA and FMEA for analog and mixed-signal blocks.
• Perform dependent failure analysis (DFA), including common-cause and cascading failures.
• Define failure mode distributions and justify diagnostic coverage with traceable evidence.
• Calculate and report hardware architectural metrics (SPFM, LFM) and PMHF against ASIL targets.
• Specify and validate safety mechanisms (voltage monitors, BIST, redundancy, diagnostics) with design and test teams.
• Derive and trace safety requirements from system assumptions through design, verification, and validation.
