Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, MI, seeks a Safety Engineer to shape the safety of next-generation vehicles in the Software-Defined Vehicle era. You will develop HARA, FSC, and SRS, and produce DFMEA/FTA/DFA analyses per ISO 26262, while coordinating V&V activities across teams.
The role requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering and 5 years in Functional Safety plus MBSE experience; hybrid work arrangement with onsite four days per week.

In this position...
Develop and maintain Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessments (HARA), Functional Safety Concepts (FSC), and Safety Requirement Specifications (SRS)
Produce safety analysis (DFMEA, FTA, DFA, per ISO 26262)
Support the planning of Safety Verification & Validation activities at different levels of system abstraction
Support the creation of test cases (DVP), their execution and evaluation of the results
Collaborate cross-functionally with systems, hardware, software, and V&V stakeholders to deliver a safe product with a comprehensive safety case
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Aerospace, Mechanical, Systems, Computer Engineering or related degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
5 years of experience in Functional Safety
5 years of experience products in mass production
2 years of experience with Model Based Systems Engineering

This position is a salary grade 6 and ranges from $74,300-$124,500., This position is a salary grade 7 and ranges from $86,600-$144,900., This position is a salary grade 8 and ranges from $99,100-$156,200.
Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
