Job summary

Tessolve Semiconductors, a Hero Electronix venture, is seeking a Functional Safety Engineer in Dallas, TX for an office-based role.

You will plan ISO 26262 activities, develop safety plans, build FMEDA/FMEA for analog and mixed-signal blocks, perform DFA, define diagnostics, and trace safety requirements across design, verification and validation with design and test teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute ISO 26262 semiconductor development activities (Part 5 and Part 11).
• Develop and maintain the safety plan, safety case, and safety manual for assigned products
• Build and review FMEDA and FMEA for analog and mixed-signal blocks.
• Perform dependent failure analysis (DFA), including common-cause and cascading failures (shared references, supplies, substrate)
• Define failure mode distributions and justify diagnostic coverage with traceable evidence
• Calculate and report hardware architectural metrics (SPFM, LFM) and PMHF against ASIL targets
• Specify and validate safety mechanisms (voltage monitors, BIST, redundancy, diagnostics) with design and test teams
• Derive and trace safety requirements from system assumptions through design, verification, and validation
